JOSEPH KERETA
Joseph Kereta is an avid collector of Elvis Presley memorabilia since 1962 when he saw Elvis' second motion picture, “Loving You,” on television. He has seen Elvis perform 21 times and had the great opportunity to meet him backstage,
in 1972,
at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, when Elvis gave him the pair of aviator sunglasses he was wearing. An interesting fact: Joseph was the individual who filmed the Los Angeles Forum afternoon concert (1974) in which Elvis was wearing the Peacock Jumpsuit. It is regarded by many as one of the finest amateur film footage segments of Elvis ever shot. Joseph, along with Bud Glass and Lance Robbins Produced "Elvis Behind the Image Vol. 1" which included rare concert footage and interviews with those close to Elvis. Joseph resides just north of San Diego County and has a company that deals in memorabilia called aptly enough “EP Memorabilia” specializing in Elvis. He has since expanded his collection to include other artists in the entertainment field. His clients have included some of the foremost Elvis collectors in the world today. He is currently writing a book called “Elvis -The MGM Years,” which will include in its text actual contracts, inter-office memos, story boards, deposit statements, unpublished photos and what really went on behind the scenes with Elvis at this legendary studio in the fall of 2007.
